On March 17th of 2020, Sophie Wilmès, Prime Minister of Belgium, announced the lockdown of the country in response to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Non-essential businesses were shut down. Some employees could WFH, others were laid off.
Only key departments (transportation, health, law enforcement, food retail and financial services) could proceed as usual.
I am part of these exceptions.
As soon as social distancing became the norm, I decided to avoid public transportations at all cost and ended up commuting to and from work by foot, a camera in my satchel.
This is Brussels, capital of the European Union, during rush hour.
